The most remarkable finding that greeted our crew this past Saturday was the paucity of ehrharta grass. What with our diligent monthly attacks and the recent dry weather, very little ehrharta regrowth was to be found!
The watering we’ve done the past couple of months has proved highly useful, as we’ve only sustained a relatively small (perhaps 5-10% or so) loss from this winter’s plantings. The new melic grass (Melica californica and M torreyana) are particularly nice.
Here is a photo of one of the numerous live oak saplings we’ve planted at Edgehill, all of which are doing great:
